Love Montgomery Bell State Park! Everything you want to get away to the woods for a bit. Nice trails. Food. Lodge & cabins. Not too close, not too far.
Stayed here for a week while visiting the Nashville area. Quiet, fairly clean. Kids had fun playing in the shallow creek. Plenty to keep you busy if you don't want to head into town. Beach was OK, they put sand on the bottom of the swimming area and the water is pretty clear for a lake. Kayak, canoe, paddle boats and row boats are available for rent at a reasonable price. Most of the electric and full hook-up sites are pretty level and gravel covered for easy set up.
The park itself seemed very pretty ... we ate Thanksgiving lunch at the lodge. The food was plentiful and very good. The only complaint I have is that my wife thought it was a little cold. It was served buffet style, so sometimes things get a little cold. Overall, worth the trip and worth the money.
Nice campground but be careful on picking site, we were there during high heat season so didn't do much. Visited features in the park and nearby communities. Would have liked to try golf course if our stay were longer, strong possible for future.
This State Park embodies everything I love about my birth state! Beautiful nature, friendly people, very sanitary, and not too expensive! I enjoy coming down here to visit my local family in Dickson. Would not mind living in the area in the distant future! Thanks for the great hospitality!
